Got about 100k in the bank, looking at buying a dirt cheap 25-30 footer with a full length keel, gutting the cunt, fixing everything and refitting with the absolute bare minimum. No fridge, no pressurised water, no hot showers, no autopilot, no holding tank toilet, the less to fix the better. Only luxury I'm considering is a DIY watermaker because having to constantly go back to town or hunt for fresh water sources sounds exhausting. I've done through hikes before so the lack of these luxuries doesn't really concern me. Anyone else doing the liveaboard life? Watched umpteen million boat refit videos and am a tradie so pretty sure I can do everything myself easily, my country has excellent seafood stocks, I just want to spend all day fishing and sailing. Pretty sure my monthly expenditures can be less than the interest payments on the ~80k I expect to have after refitting everything and I can probably make a little cash here and there if I need to.
