Then the drop in temperature was measured over 30 minutes. The wet wool performed worse than no insulation at all. This probably happened because of evaporative cooling. Your soaked loden jacket will also cool you through evaporative cooling. The fact that your wet jacket is the same temperature as your body says nothing about it's evaporative cooling effect and it also has nothing at all to do with keeping your body heat inside. You need to learn how thermodynamics work.

Here's the results of the same experiment, but done with fleece. Nearly identical results. Thing is, that fleece won't be wet for long, unlike your loden larpjacket.
