I still haven't gone out but I'm gonna travel with this bike. From what I've seen people carry a lot of shit, most of that shit comes from unnecesary fears, what if X,Y happens etc.
Try to cut down on the trash you carry, take only a really small 1 or 3L extra gas bottle if you need it. (I've seen people carry 20L tanks like, for what? Unless you're going to Africa you don't need that).
Carry some basic tools like a kit for patching up, a backup chain, and maybe a clutch cable.
Buy one of these total waterproof bags for putting your shit in there, like one from "Drymaster" (there are a lot of brands it's basically the same shit). Carry some food for picnic, like cereal and whatever but don't go full blown autist and carry 20 food cans or something.
Carry a separate raincoat that you can put on very quickly (it has to be outside, I mean like really accessible). Carry some sidebags, put the drymaster on top, and idk, carry a couple of clothes/towel
I've read it's better to not plan your trip that much, just plan the route but don't be overly autistic about it booking places etc. At least I'm gonna do that
