>>2170338>>2170510I’m actually going to be moving to South Carolina in a month and a half, because I just can’t live in California anymore, but I’m going to miss the desert like crazy. Planning on taking my dog on one more big camping trip before I leave.
Pic related is a former rail line that used to service a now abandoned borax mine up in the nearby mountains. I kind of want to string my hammock up under those beams, play a harmonica for my dog under the stars, mess around with my revolver, and just spend a weekend pretending to be a survivor in the Mojave Wasteland one more time before I have to hang it all up.
Seriously, get out every single chance you have. You never realize how much you truly cherish it until you’re looking down the barrel of not being there anymore.
Maybe someday I’ll buy a little shack out in the desert to use as a vacation retreat and come back someday, who knows.
