Okay, so yesterday. Day three. It was pretty good. Diver and I started the day by walking down around the area of town the house is. It's mostly factories and other things, there's not any general stores outside of the shell store down the street, nothing like a dollar store to get basic items. There's a ton of dumpsters though with plenty of supplies to fix up the house if we acquire a cart to carry it. He showed me a church that gives out food donations on tuesday and thursdays, the line was wrapped down the street. I plan to go fill up my bag and bring it back to the house for them when I can. I've emptied out my pack and left most of my supplies there in the squat so we can fill it with things if we need to. At this point it appears safe enough. I'll get into that later.
We walked up to the soto station and hopped the rail, as you guys have said, nobody pays for it. It was a few miles but it's a good route to get downtown if I don't have any money. Once we got downtown we split up for the rest of the day and I didn't see him much. I hung out with the aforementioned girl who's lighter I stole when we met for most of the day. She couch surfs mostly and doesn't work very often. She's bumming it up, being young, enjoying herself. She took me up to the park nearby and introduced me to some college kids and other fellow crusts. She took me up to a local pizza place where to score some free pizza, I paid for a slice but they still gave me a free drink and gave her 3 and a drink.
Also sometime yesterday this key found its way into my pocket. I have absolutely no idea where it came from and never do I just procure things into my pocket from no-where. It's still got me baffled.
