for the arrows I use carefully selected dowels from home depot, feathers, and steel field point. The feathers are fixed with fletchtite and the field tips are fitted with hot glue
the first ones i made broke somewhat quickly and I think the problem with them was that the growth rings in the wood were too small. although they did weigh in 50 lbs and were fun to shoot. Always recommended to look for lumber with thick growth rings.
so far ive only used pecan hickory but im going to look for something better
