Hey /out/ I've got a question. If one had the physical and mental fitness along with the skills to do so could 'living' on the Appalachian Trail be possible/doable? Is plant and animal life along with water sources abundant along the entire length, or would there be a prime region to do it? It was just something I wondered while watching man vs wild. Sure, it's one thing to go camping or hiking for a weekend with everything you need, or hike the trail and use food drops but could one actually live out there, say for a year? What also struck this idea was a news article about two convicts who lived in Yellowstone for a year before they were recaptured.
