Essentially do your research on how the military creates their meal profiles, including desired nutrition/nutrition requirements, similarities between meals, and different meal components (e.g. entree, grain, etc). I've easily sank 100+ hours into this project in total, mainly over a few month timeframe.

On top of that, while there are a fair number of components on your picture, ultimately you'll only be able to eat a few meals before you start repeating the bases; things will get old quick. The point of any MRE project is to have a large number of varieties to keep things interesting, as morale is a major factor for any numerous-day excursion. While those items could be used, and may likely be used in small amounts in an MRE, they are far from a balanced diet.
