UNC-CH student here. There aren't any derelict buildings around to explore, but I've gotten to know our storm drain system pretty well. There's some cool stuff down there, one of the manhole exits comes up right on the sideline of the football stadium, and there's stuff like massive flood chambers and areas where the whole floor is quicksand (no idea how deep, an unknown death drowning in quicksand in a storm drain is NOT the way to go).
We've actually got 2 on campus. If you're a student here, the most famous one is the one that enters from Mesopotamia, and the other one is diagonally across the street from the Dean Dome. It's a bit harder to get to, but the tunnels are massive. Like, 20 feet high for most of the time instead of 6-7 feet diameter.
Pic related, photo of graffiti in the more well-known tunnel.
