I really want to try steelhead/salmon fishing some time though. I have an inexpensive cabelas 6 weight atm that works for bass (pic related) but was thinking about getting a heavier weight rod for larger bass, steelhead, and salmon. Would an 8 weight be a decent jack of all trades in that sense? I was looking at this:
