It doesnt take a great edge, but that is more to do with the profile than the steel i think, it holds what edge you can get on it just fine, ive had it shaving hair off my arm before but it took a lot of work to get there.
Its actually one of my first knives, i have made a couple of others just out of leafspring or coil with drawn out looped handles but i never bothered taking pictures of those and most have been given away, im a blacksmith by trade though, so im pretty confident forging and fire-welding.
