There are lots of ancient ruins in the americas, but many are covered by soil or just haven't been found yet. You forget how large it is, and that large sections were abandoned between their construction and our arrival in the 1500s.
The Miami Circle might be thousands of years old, the Wyoming Medicine wheel is ancient. The Hopi ruins are Adobe construction that's reminiscent of ancient Moche ruins on the coast of Peru. There were thousands of years of archeological investigation in Europe and the middle east, but only 500 years of western people even present here. I believe that with time we will find out that a founding civilization spanned the length of the Americas and a common cultural vein connects the people of Chile to the people of Southern Canada. There have been massive upheavals and that history is partially lost.
