>>2171593This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. Catamarans are typically more stable and better for cruising. I'm not sure where you got the idea that catamarans have less cabin space than monohulls but I guess it depends on the boat. A typical catamaran such as a leopard or gemeni will have cabin space above the water in between the two hulls and cabin space inside each hull. See pic related. But if you are building something smaller (<30 ft) then a monohull might have more cabin space. Also keep in mind that catamarans generally are faster than monohulls but they usually cannot sail as close to the wind as a monohull.
