I just moved to the PNW, zone 8a, and there is quite a bit of nice dark soil around my new place. Specifically though this planter is full of overgrown veggies and shit - kale gone to seed, beets that are hollowed out shells with foot-long leaves, some fucked up looking onion. What do I do, just pull everything, till in a bit of topsoil, and replant? Is it worth trying to 'save' anything already growing? My main concern is make and chard if that's what is in there currently, is it better to prune it back or just plant anew.
There are two other areas of similar size that are not quite so overgrown but still do not seem to have much of value, those I feel fine about just pulling and tilling.
