>>1347173ya if you're ever had a virginia, perique, oriental or burley blend that was harsh or smoked too hot then aging it is the best thing you can do for it. It mellows out the tobacco smoke and it makes it tastes a lot sweeter and a million times better. Tobacco ages like wine.
Only blends you particularly don't want to age too long are Latakia heavy blends and aromatics cause they lose their punch after long periods of aging, but there are some latakia blends where i find that aging does help out.
You know you have a well aged tobacco when you start to get sugar crystals forming which is called "plum"
