I built my own large shed/garage on my house land as a test run for buying land and building my own place. I designed it myself as well. I followed all codes and went through the actual permit process.
At age 21 I was a hard worker and strong but didnt know how to do anything technical. At 24 I bought my house which was a fixer upper and learned to do everything over time. I finished my shed when I was 36.
I bought 14 acres last summer at age 37. It has a farm house on it but its rough. Might build something new on the land.
