I have an old Tatonka Pinnacle 50 as my travel backback for longer travels and/or work (I don't have a suitcase). It's really sturdy and I don't see it retiring anytime soon.
But as a backpack for daily use I use the Jägerrucksack similar to the one you see in the picture. It was pretty cheap and I liked the look but it's horrible for city trips in the summer or hiking. Currently it's on the back of my bike most of the time but if it's not and it's a bit warmer my back is wet pretty much instantly. I'm currently looking for a light backpack I could use for both small daily trips in the city and hiking. I guess in the long run I will something like
