>>2495455My first encounter with spooky stuff in the /out/doors came when I was a wee lad
>Be me, camping with my family in North Wales>campsite is a small family run place that my family has been coming too since my mum was wee>After lights out I go to explore the camp (this was pretty usual for me)>There are several fields, one of which is relevant here>The dogwalking field is a field with long grass and a path running around its border. On one border there was a small wooded stream and myself and a few other children would cross the narrow but deep portion that bordered the field to play in the broad and shallow section in the trees by the fence that marked the edge of the site. There is some light from the main house, and from a couple of streetlights at the other edge of the field that illuminate the little country road>I decide it would be cool to see what it looks like at night and head on over for the gap we used to cross at>As I approach I feel my back prickle but brave through it, because your a dumb shit when your a wee lad>I reach the crossing and something feels off>I look up into the trees above the stream>2 green eyes shine back at me, like cat eyes but bigger>I hear a snarling from the trees>panic.avi>Run screaming back to my mum and dad who dont believe me>Dont go exploring at night any more that holidayIt would be over a decade before someone would tell me about the Big Cat cryptids of the UK, and I firmly believe thats what I encountered that day
>Be me, teenager, at school camp in the lakes>sat outside our cabin with the others around a fire>Suddenly we hear a rumbling noise>Rumbling comes towards us, and passes underneath us>Everyone looks at each other in confusion>Teacher makes a joke about tunnel fires>Everyone shrugs it off and goes back to eating>Dont bring it up againTo this day I do not know what that was. We never spoke of it after that
