The stakes it comes with are a bit heavy and the loops are horizontal- so you need to run some cordage through them and then loop around your stakes. You don't put the stakes through the loops. Also, you are going to want to extend the upper side flap, see pic, so you get a pentagon shaped tent instead of a triangle. A half-foot up makes a big amount of difference in room when you're sleeping.
You'll figure out the side vent flaps, and there is a little one on the top of the wall opposite the entrance.
