The efficiency depends on a light pouch and bands to match the thing being shot. I made this tiny little pouch to shoot .177 steel BB's. It is reinforced with thread, in a weird knot arrangement I came up with.
It was able to shoot a BB in and out of an aluminum can- this may not be much of a feat, I have no idea. It's easier with heavier ammo for sure.
I tie all bands at the pouch end with theraband yellow, six turns. First three, put knotting cord through, last three, pull tail thru. This keeps the knots very light. On the fork end I use theraband gold to affix the bands, as weight doesn't matter and strength does.
Theraband blue, double or triple bands, is among the fastest. It breaks much more quickly than theraband gold, which is probably what you'd want if you were away from home.
