I have a rod and I’m getting a liscense for freshwater and shore fishing today.
Other than those two items what do I need to bring with me when I go fishing?
How early should I get up?
Is there a jack of all trades bait or do I need to learn about the fish in the area and specialize?
What do I do after I catch it, ie how do I know if it’s worth keeping to eat or if it’s too small?
do I scale and gut it on the spot or put it in a cooler and wait for when I get home?
I don’t know shit about fishing, only went once when I was 8.
