>>1361968>outdoors catsI trap all outdoor cats and take them to the local anima shelter. They get tested for 2 different disease, killed if they have any of them or fixed if they don't and are not already fixed. Then if they have owners tags the owner is called, told where the cat is and the owner then has to pay for all the tests, the fixing, and rent for how long they've been there. Or, they are photographed and put up for adoption. I started photographing the cats and will be shooting any repeats on sight instead of capturing them.
I have trapped about 12-24 stray and feral cats every single year for the past 5 years. Last year it had dropped to about 16 and this year it has dropped to only 3. Local wildlife is already starting to make a comeback. It isn't just me helping that, there's a pack of coyotes in the area too. Before they arrived a decade and a half ago, I'd see around 50 cats a single day. They completely wiped out the ground bird population. Only in the past 2 years have whippoorwills started calling again.
Don't suffer any outdoor cat for any reason. Trap them and take them to animal control, every single chance you get.
