You're not going to "just get sponsors" that "give you free shit" without proving to them you're committed to the sport with or without their support.
And sponsorships aren't just "gibs me free shit" - if you're in it for that, you're in it for the wrong reasons. Motorsports is a small industry - everyone talks to each other. When you go out asking for gibsmedats, you'll get a reputation in the industry for being an annoying kid who wants free shit without working for it.
The time, miles, work I put into my sports, i'd be money ahead working my real job for those hours and paying retail for what I get vs. what I get from sponsorships.
