>>2426330 I absolutely see a benefit from consuming cannabis on arduous outdoor treks. I used to do conservation and trail work, we worked 16 hour days camping in remote locations for a week at a time. Despite being a cannabis consumer myself, I had this idea that I wasn't going to use cannabis at all doing this work. Told myself to suffer through it and really take in all in. I worked that job for a year, and I didn't smoke any weed during those projects for 11 1/2 months. The last 2 I go on, a close crewmate offers for me to come and smoke with him in the woods after dinner. I accept because I was already on my way out of the job and wasnt concerned. I smoked that night, and I woke up feeling better than I had in an entire year. People are not fucking around when they say its an anti inflammatory. I felt absolutely refreshed and my joints felt great after spending 4 days prior camping and hiking ~20 miles a day doing miserable labor while it poured rain the entire time. That shit doesnt happen without weed, it felt absolutely fucking impossible that I could feel so rested and good to go after being so exhausted and sore.I did it for the duration of that project and the last project I did. The change was noticeable, and I kicked myself for not making that a part of my bedtime routine much earlier. Nicotine causes inflammation and is horrible for your muscles after and during backbreaking labor, as good as it is for morale. I am a heavy tobacco smoker and I chain smoked the entire time in that job, pipes sometimes. I could feel the effects compared to weed, and weed was the obvious winner for my body. I think it abso-fuckin-lutely has a place in /out/, and I think the pipe smokers are as cringe as stoners. Drinking is part /out/, yet how many camping trips have you heard drunk screaming in the middle of the night? And how many cans litter the parks? Its not the substance, its the people. Disrespectful assholes have no place in /out/, that we can all agree on.
