People have more material wealth than ever before. You can own a metal forge in your backyard, a chemistry set in your basement, drones, computers, and a 3D printer. You're going to ban a relic of the Industrial Revolution? There are more firearms in civilian hands now than ever before in history. Not just in the US, but in UK, Germany, Russia, etc. Guns are a durable good that last potentially indefinitely with proper maintenance. Gun control is a losing issue on the wrong side of history.
