Look online at your local DNR website. They will have a handbook to download that will give you all the details you will NEED to know about hunting.
Some other steps might include:
Getting your firearms safety certificate.
Finding a game you want to harvest. (Small Game, Large Game, Waterfowl)
Finding areas to hunt in. (Public Land and Wildlife Management Areas work best)
Finding the right tools for the right job. (Completely situational on what you want to hunt)
Your best bet is to stop being a beta about it and go into any hunting supply retailer (Gander MT, Bass Pro, Any gun store) and just ask people. The only thing hunters don't want to talk about is their favorite spots other than that most hunters would love to help someone who wants to find their ways.
