>>1596386I did this shit for 5 years and while it was fun, it was hell on my actual life. People dont often think about the 12 hours you sit at the hanger doing dick all waiting for a call. Or filling an on call schedule where you can't be more than 30 minutes from the airport on the weekend where it's your turn. It's all mostly indoors shit doing your certifications watching a computer screen for what the weather is doing/going to do. Then imagine sitting for 11 hours doing nothing when you finally get a call and the temp and the dew point close within a degree and you're grounded. It's not really /out/. The most time I was out was when I would jog down the runway and back. Super fulfilling when you have a successful mission but mostly it's just stress.
