I pulled him just straight up out of the water and he didn't have the chance to tire himself out. The pictures a little fuzzy because the entire time my thumb was in his mouth he was just smacking his tail and trying to swim in the air. They're real angry, but I heard they're kind of hard to clean and don't have the best texture. Green sunfish are almost the exact same animal, like they're the same body type. Larger than average panfish with a hinging larger jaw. But the green sunfish you can just fillet right up easy and cook and tastes great. Green sunfish is also really pissed off all the time.
