I LOVE the feel, weight, look of the gerber... but as far as practicality goes, its a horrible choice. Partial tang, pumel shaped to break windows(hammer would be more useful), rubber hilt that will break down, partial serrations, 420steel, etc... all make it a poor choice.
Seal pup's okay, if you can get it cheap. It feels too light/cheap imo, but its uing glass reinforced plastic, and has a full tang, so it should hold up to abuse.
Honestly, id just get a mora robust if i was you. Take it out for a few test uses. If it holds up, congrats! You can get away with a cheap $20 knife that prob. works better than my $70 sealpup, and $100 LMF2. The only shitty part about the moras is their wimpy tangs.
