I think the ore mountains are really interesting and underappreciated. you'll get an interesting mix of beautiful nature and post-GDR decay.
if you're headed to prague it might be worth your time to check out Bohemian Switzerland. that's a region right behind the german/czeck border.
it's beyond beautiful over there, pic related.
I definitely want to spend more times there and maybe even check out more of the Czech republic.
