>>1168855>Anyone else melancholic about the slow death of the Boy Scouts?50 year old former Boy Scout here and when I was a Scout, it was a blast but that’s because we went on campouts every month (plus one week on Mackinaw Island) and the dads were cool and pretty much let us run around on our own.
My buddy’s son is 17 and graduating this year but when he said when his son was in Scouts for several years, it was also pretty cool, as the dads were all cool and the troop went on campouts regularly. But after they got a new Scoutmaster, it sucked as he was a Lib-Dem jackass who only wanted to do “community service” type shit, like picking up trash and charity drives and literally didn’t want to go camping.
Another buddy’s son is 15 now and he was only in Webelos/Scouts for two years, as my buddy said it was total bullshit, with _moms going on campouts_ and sitting around on their asses being bitches, while the dads were a bunch of pussy whipped betas and expected to do everything and meanwhile, the boys were treated like precious snowflakes and not allowed to do anything fun.
tl;dr It's up to the dads to make Scouting cool.
