If you're having to actively hide then the woodland doesn't sound large or remote enough to have an enjoyable camp out imo.
But you've basically answered your own question. If you are trying to hide from someone then anything that blocks the line of site is going to do the job.
I think you'll be surprised how little you have to hide though.
