>>2346802My wife has a bunch of small rubberbands about a quarter inch in diameter for tying up her hair. Get yourself a bag of couple hundred of those from walmart. I just take and put the rubber band over the crawdads head and pinchers but in front of his legs. Depending on the rubber band you might want to double it up because you want it nice and tight around is carapace. Take a j hook and just put it under the the rubber band with the point towards the tail. When a bass or a catfish or whatever grabs ahold of them they usually swallow the crawdad tail first and that hook will set on the top or their mouth or the top corner every time. Usually you can get away with using one crawdad a couple times because the way they're rigged they rarely get hurt or banged up. I don't use any weight and just toss him out there and kind of slowly reel and pull up from the bottom everyonce in a while. If you forget about him and put your pole down too long that crawdad will get you so freaking snagged up you won't even believe it.
