>>1249950>backcountryI once went on a backpack trip for a week in Yosemite National Parkinglot. We were harassed by human-acclimated bears every night trying to get our food hung up between two trees. They did not succeed, but it was fucking unnerving. In my local National Forest and BLM lands the bears run when they see you, because there is a hunting season for them. A wild animal sees you as either a mate, a threat or a food source. In National Parks they are not hunted, so they aren't afraid of people. I would rather have the big fucking bear afraid of me, thank you.
