So I've decided to keep some catfish out of my local reservoir to eat, since someone told me wild ones taste way better.

So after i catch them what is the best method of killing and preserving them to get the best meat?

I'm not sure if i should kill them with the wire trick or try and bleed them out (I've heard they take a while to bleed and sometimes don't die)

Also should i kill and ice them immediately? Or get a keep net and kill and ice them all right before i leave? This seems like it could potentially stress them more, but you would have fresher meat.

But either way gutting and filleting has to wait till I'm home

Seems like amazon has a sorta limited selection but i already have prime so its just nice when i can get shit from there.
