>>2653645I highly recommend using a hammock setup. Haven't slept in a tent in over 10 years. I find it far more comfortable and compact. You basically need the same gear that you would need for every other type of camping or backpacking. But you also need some basic tools particularly tire tools.
Do you have a bike yet? A smaller adv bike would be best but also dual sports work good. Don't over think it and dont overpack.

Grated a lighter narrower bike with a short seat height is easier to handle. Just go sit on some and see what you think. You don't need to touch on both sides. That said cheap adv bike-klr650. Good adv bike-T7
