I have a 870 wingmaster that I grouse hunt in northern New Mexico with massive amounts of bear and mountian lion (everything wants to kill you here) and this past weekend I brought my sako 7mm rem mag because it's the only other gun I own (for bear protection).
I guess what I am trying to ask is fesable and safe to keep a slug in the chamber of my 870 and bushwack with that while I'm hunting grouse and if I see grouse cycle the action and keep bird shot in the tube or is this just retarded and I should carry the rifle slung and keep that. It's just very very heavy and clumsy.
Any suggestions annons?
