Just stick with it. Like I said, after you get the hang of the brakes and spool tension, you gotta get the casting motion down. And when you get the casting down, you can crank the brakes and tension down and really see what they're about. It took me awhile to really understand the casting part after using spinning reels for a couple decades but it was worth it once I figured it out.
