The trail up wee Mount Persis at the edge Washington Cascades gains 2000 feet in less than a mile, before leveling out on a ridgeline. That's not exactly USFS standard grading, but it's not exactly a USFS trail.
This thread should be called "Lead legs," which is what mine feel like after a long hike. The companion "Iron legs" thread would be about elevation gain.
