It's the god damn deer's fault they are overpopulated here, but for some reason the dog ticks outnumber the deer ticks 10 to 1. Which is convenient because deer ticks are smaller and harder to find, but I still get the heebie jeebies from them. I probably pulled a dozen dog ticks off myself this year and only one deer tick. Sometimes I notice the tick in the middle of the night while adjusting my sleeping position and have a little freak out.
