>>1962609When I used to live in MN I would say the same, but living in a place with almost nothing but trout will warp your sense of what fish are worth fishing for. This lake is all brown trout all the time since it has natural reproduction and no shallow water predators like pike. We joke here about how catching "a couple of browns" is equivalent to getting skunked because it will happen no matter what. Start fishing literally anywhere deeper than 10 feet deep and you will catch brown trout with a few stocked rainbows mixed in. Fish in 40+ FoW and you will catch natural lakers as well. Perch are ironically one of the most sought after fish in the lake for locals (after kokanee) just because anything that isn't a salmonid is rare in this region. The only way to get fish with solid white meat is to catch perch or buy it from the grocery store. Also because although the population of perch is low, the average size is great with plenty of 12+ inch perch mixed in.
