>>1948112I have a serious yet potentially controversial question. Aside from exclusivity, what makes a folding pocket knife valued above $2k? Is it the steel? Is it the grind? Is it the design? Is it the time it took someone to design it in CAD and pop the gcode into a cnc? I always make it a point to buy the highest quality item I can afford if im in the market for something, but at a certain point you're no longer paying for practical benefits. I can tell a distinct difference between a $50 folder and a $200 folder, and I would assume I could (maybe) tell the difference if a $500 folder dropped into my lap, but again, aside from being part of an exclusive club that owns a limited item that included a handwritten note from some guy that made it in his garage, what justifies the price point? Not to mention the fact that it will NEVER be used, and will live in the original box only to be taken out for instagram photos. Pic very related.
