South of Dana things got much drier, however, I hike 25-30 miles a day so the time between water sources wasn't as great as it could have been. I met a handful of other hikers who were doing the Dana to Petra section, who weren't doing the rest of the South due to the fact that they would have had to carry 2-3 days worth of water. There are water drop services available but they are pretty pricey, running at like 200JOD. The most I carried was 5L which was more than enough and meant I could ignore some pretty nasty natural sources.
