>>1227245Get a couple decks of decent quality cards, like Bicycle cards, and some hardwearing (6 sided) dice.
Bicycle deck (that I just weighed = 91g). 2d6 might as well be negligible. Gameboy micro is 80g according to google. GBA is ~150g. Plus cartridges, rechargeable power supply, batteries.
The advantage of the cards and dice is you can play with other people and everyone already knows some games. Maybe you know card magic/can learn some basic tricks, who knows. If you're bugging out or in due to a blizzard, hurricane, etc you will likely have friends and neighbours to play games with. If everyone knows you've pared down weight and brought something just for you you'll look like an autist.
If you're talking SHTF I don't even think it's an issue. The idea of going lone wolf in any extended collapse situation is bullshit. If you have a large enough party, your needs and carry capacity should scale to the point where you can afford a few reasonably weighty morale items anyway. Or depending on the emergency you will probably be able to get books and other such things by returning to abandoned towns once in a while. You're not living for 40 years innawoods with you, your backpack, and your GBA, period.
