>looks faggyyeah its so if you drop your shoes off a cliff or something you can find them later. function over form. hikers and backpackers don't really care about what they look like. its actually come in handy for me a few times. losing my shoes/boots on a section hike a hundred miles away from civilization in the shoulder season here will kill you.
