>>1566480When I was a kid my little brother and I took turns casting a line with a laughably large rusty spinner lure we found at the ocean directly into some whitewater rapids in Oregon so we could experience some FULL TILT BOOGIE REEL FISHING ACTION. I thought I got snagged on a stick or something so I yanked as hard as I could to get the lure free and it flung right over my head onto the shoreline of the river. It turns out I wasn't hung up on a stick at all, and that I had accidentally hooked a salmon right in the face and ripped its fucking eye out. Technically this was the first time I ever "caught" a salmon...or at least a piece of one, despite intentionally using a lure with a hook I thought was an order of magnitude larger than any living thing in the river could actually swallow.
