Central PA has a few nice areas.
The problem is your idea of exisiting with guns and snares, which the state would consider hunting and trapping. You'd need a hunting licence and furtakers licence. Your best bet would be to go during small game season. That way you can shoot any small critter you want.
Don't even bother with snares if you're not familiar with trapping.
In central PA the hammersley wild area is a good place to start. You can dispersed camo anywhere within a PA state forest or state wild area. You cannot camp anywhere within a state game land.
Another good option is the Loyalsock Trail. Especially this time of year, you'll hardly see another soul on the trail.
Word of advice. If you're not experienced in backpacking, hunting, trapping, or camping, maybe combining all of them at once isn't the best idea. I'd just start by camping somewhere.
