Your Iowa Zypers, how quickly does the suede dry? I like the idea of boots that you can just jump in a river with and let them dry while still walking, with wool socks. Perhaps I'll spray or impregnate the edges of the footbox and inner foot with repellant so they don't instantly absorb water from dewy grass.
I want to go on a really long hike so that changes whether gore-tex is good or not, as I hear it's useless when the lining fails and takes a bretty long time to dry. How is suede? Suede seems comfy and tough and I like how it feels
