I carve from scratch by the way. Using a hatchet and a Morrakniv.
Finished with pure tung oil.
Heads are from a Bulgarian blacksmith on eBay.
biggest tip, don't use heat on the heads for any reason. Don't grind with a bench grinder. If they get hot, they loose their temper.
Sharpen with an electric whetstone. It has a water sump to keep the stone wet and your blade cool. Also lower RPM, only like 200RPM instead of 3000.
