It's quite deep and there is always water in it, he throws 2 or 3 time in the year some bacteria (you get them at a home depot) they eat everything and it doenst get much more in the pit
he got the house in 1995 and he never had to empty the outhouse
Btw the house is in the middle of the city and drainage is available but the pipe diameter from the "normal" toilet in the house is too small to fit solid stuff
